Celebrating the life of
Donald John Shubeck
October 15, 1936 - January 28, 2025
Donald John Shubeck was born October 15, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio. He attended Kent State University before enlisting in the Army. While stationed in Ft. Smith, AR, Don met the love of his life, Mary Etzkorn, at Sunday Mass. Their love story was rooted in their strong Catholic faith which they shared with their three children. After a long and successful career in sales, Don retired as a proud business owner.
Don and Mary spent their last years in Savannah, GA where he enjoyed playing golf and cheering for the Braves. Don loved his precious wife Mary, three children, eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren with all his heart. On January 28, 2025, Don and Mary were reunited in eternal life. Don is proceeded in death by Jack Shubeck, Laura Shubeck, Laurie Deibel, Mary Shubeck, and Lucille Shubeck.
My condolences to the entire Shubeck family on the loss of your father. He will be sorely missed as he often talked about his family with great affection. Lucille, his 2nd wife for 14 years, was my best friend who predeceased him in December 2017. Her daughter, Wendy, survives her. It was probably an oversight that his entire life was not included in his obituary. I send you my deepest sympathy.
